I prefer using them. They keep the weights from sliding around if you are one that likes to change positions or roll over. On my recent trip I forgot to pack them, and if I would roll over or change position to look at something I would feel them slide in the pocket. Not a big deal though, but it caught me off guard and I didnt know what it was at first since I usually use the yellow thingies.
