Heard on the radio of a shark attack in Anilao. report said the Mabini resident was swimming in shallow water in front of an unnamed resort when attacked. victim is fighting for life in Bauan hospital with serious injuries. 50-50. wonder how true this is. can anyone verify? there were a lot of shark sightings in anilao during easter with one group reporting that they were surrounded by 4 sharks in arthur's rock.
 
I've seen baby blacktip reef sharks around the shore...
 
update:
Bob/BCD checked and apparently it was a big barracuda that attacked the swimmer at vistamar. the incident happened at night time.
 
Heard this on the radio as well. I hope somebody can verify.

I saw a 4 ft whitetip at batok a few weeks ago (my first in anilao in a long time), while some friends saw a big one in mainit recently.

Mike- baby blacktips were regularly seen in front of the dive solana dining area, near the shore, when we used to frequent the place several years ago, i wonder if they can still be seen there.

Ya don't mess with the Cuda... Especially when they are 5 feet long! Those teeth will cut fish right in two... Imagine if they get hold of your... (fill in with personal preference...:D).:rofl3:
