Wakatobi Equipment ??

Heading to Wakatobi here in about 50 days (who's counting??). Our trip has us diving in Wakatobi for 10 days, followed by a number of other layovers in Asia for a number of days afterwards. Which means - less luggage, happy travelers. I'm trying to pair down my suitcases as much as possible.

I asked the fine folks at Wakatobi what type of gear they had (specifically BCDs), and was told Aqualung. I normally dive with a Libra and if I don't have to drag that out, I'll be very glad. But more to the point, has anyone rented their gear and if so, actual models and was it in good condition?

I'll bring my own regulator, fins, computer, mask but really would prefer not bringing a BCD. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That’s interesting that they rent Aqualung gear given their connection to Bob Hollis of Oceanic/Aris/Hollis. Have a good trip and let us know how you like it.

We rented BCDs (don't remember the brand) and they were fine. Brought everything else for the same reasons.

At the resort, we have “Seaquest Pro QD” BCD's with integrated weight pockets in sizes XS to XL. We also have the “Aqualung Wave” BCD's in sizes XS to XL.

We encourage our guests to travel light by offering quality rental gear at affordable rates, and have started with offering a resort credit to those who travel light.
