Looking at getting another camera but going digital. Parents have a HP, I was looking at something that could be used for out of water and diving like the Reefmaster camera. This would be my first digital and minus the battery life, I think they work great. What would be a good one for something like this. Also is it better to go with a nice Sony and get a housing for it?

Do a little search for your top two or three brand choices like Reefmaster, Canon A80, Olympus 5050, Stylus etc...this will show you threads of this common starting place!

FWIW - for the money, I personally wouldn't get a Reefmaster but would buy a normal digital camera with the manufacturer's housing.

Read the Getting started sticky at the top of this board, too.

Have a look around and you'll find that you can make your questions quite specific for your needs and then the rest of us can chime in and try to help!

BTW - on my 2100 & 2300 AA rechargeables I get at least two long (70+ minute) dives plus review plus download with my LCD screen on for virtually the whole dive, so battery life probably isn't much of an issue really...
