Well, after several uses, my only criticism is that it does bend rather easily, unlike my screwdriver with the gap I ground out of the middle.

Ok, this may be a silly question, but just how tight are you suppose to make spring loaded knob nuts?

(I'm really sorry that I can't answer that question just now, but I... can't... help... but say [with a tip of the hat to Dave Barry] that "spring loaded knob nuts" would make a *really* great name for a rock band. :rofl3:)

Just enough torque not to bend the tool. If you have bent the tool then you know that it is too much.
This actually has me second thinking about ordering a couple of these.

I've never come even close to bending the tool, but maybe I just don't like my nuts all that tight.

Perhaps I should market this tool as a "torque indicating" wrench, i.e. if you bend it it indicates you used too much torque.

Perhaps. I went around and did a bunch of tanks, one right after another, and when I was finished I noticed that the tips of the tool were slightly bent. I easily straightened it back by applying some pressure with the tool against the counter top. Maybe mine is not as forged or something, or maybe my super powers are coming back after all. :D

But don't get me wrong. I still love the little thing and it will be a permanent part of my save-a-dive kit.

No forging on any of the wrenches. They are made of 304L SS. Very ductile material, the good news is if you manage to bend it you can straighten it with little fear of cracking.

I wouldn't let it bother you too much. Unless you have something else for this purpose this tool is great. The only one I've seen that was better was made from a chisle that had the notch ground out of it and the blade dulled a bit. That was a lot bigger though and would not fit so easily into a save a dive kit.

I like the question of how tight. One of my tanks was loose, the other was already so tight that I couldn't move it either way. This tank is many years old, also. Since I'm a girl, I can't torque it down very tight anyway.

I showed this tool to my LDS yesterday and they were very excited! Tobin, if you get a large order from Breeze Hawaii, you have me to thank. They also have shops in Kona and Saipan. You never know. I left them your website address.

So you ran out of diver before you ran out of tool?

Honolulu, Kona and Saipan, I feel a personal sales call may be required.......

Thanks again,

Tobin
