Sorry, to create this controversy…I mean to offend no one….I like PADI, TDI, GUE, DIR etc...any way I did take this class…as per a suggestion of my PADI instructor….lots of people probably will disagree with me …but this was my experience as newbie...
-PADI Specialty class Take them all if you have the $$ for fun
-It helped to little on the issues I had with buoyancy at the time.
-It is way too expensive….you are better off saving for an Advance Open Water or the Rescue
-I believe the intent of the class is good…but the implementation is poor (depending on the shop). Why, I wish as part of the exercise you were required to dive different gear and weight positioning. Like a backplate instead of a BC….or putting your weight on the tank/ankles. Also on the pool you do not have several depths to play with (need ocean/fresh water dive)…that’s when I had my problems.
-On my case once I got a Drysuit and moved to weight integrated all my issues were resolved immediately.
-From the PADI specialty courses I will probably recommend the ones mark with asterisk
