I am interested to see how it resolves itself. It has certainly changed my perspective on SSI. I have my log and all the signatures up to 50 dives. I have contacted the initial scuba store I used and they are researching it.

Sorry your having such a hard time Lee. They must have some new people answering the phones at SSI now or something. I was with them for 6 years and had always had great assistance in resolving issues when they arose.

If you have an SSI Logbook that has your information and training documented in you should be able to verify your training at any SSI facility. That facility should then be able to issue you your certifications.

Sorry again that your having problems, but if your unable to resolve your situation maybe you should contact their director of education, Watson DeVore. He's a good guy and his handle on the scubaboard is SSIGuy.

Only 2 of my 6 specialties show up on SSI's web site. I called and they said the dive shop would have to call to have those put on my record. I don't know why they're not there already. Could this have happened to you, too? The dive shop didn't follow through or is just behind?

Great news! I found some of my SSI C-cards. I suppose now they will have to actually help me. Something they did not want to give any consideration to before now. I have the cards and they have NO records of my existence. Hmmmm. Now I have verification and they stand with EGG on their face. Not good. Not good at all. :shakehead:

Thank you for the good advice. I started digging in my files after reading it and found C-cards and signed-off training courses in my log book. Even though SSI has no record of my existence, I now have verification I can send to them. :D

Why does it sound like you are looking for a fight Lee? Mistakes do happen and I am sure if you had kept your log book up to date this would not have been a issue at all.

Lesson from this: Keep a copy of your records and keep your log book up to date, makes life so much easier when issues arise.

Actually, that just makes you and SSI equally eggy, since you lost your C-Card also.

It sounded like I was looking for a fight because I WAS angry. I have since found all my records and now have a leg to stand on. If I had NOT found my records I would be totally screwed by an agency that is payed to be there for you.

Thanks for the info about SSI. I have my certifications through PADI but I recently moved from Colorado to Brandon FL and the LDS I like and have had great service from certifies for SSI. I really like these guys as they have helped me out a few times and gone above and beyond what was required or expected. I was looking at taking the Nitrox course from them but now I am wondering if I should stick with a PADI shop.

What do you folks think?

If you like the LDS then go to them. I am sure all agencies have bad worms. All may certs are with SSI and I have had no problems
