Regret: Console computer.
Now have to wait and get a wrist computer.
Regret: Cressi Bac Jack-great for travel and warm water diving
Now know that I want OMS. Better for NY diving, not enuff rings, gear gets cramped on my current BC. Also, akward Pony bottle fit.
those are my big ones. the small ones are minor but as with diving I'm learning by getting in the water and doing myself in how things work, don't work and what I'm comfortable with.
Godd luck to all.

Wedding ring for my first wife....

Also, I know some people don't like their inflator/octo combination, but I like my tusa duo-air a lot. Keeps things streamlined, and I've dived an entire lap around a lake using it as a primary with no discomfort. It's no 50D, but what octo is? Now, handing it off as an octo would be very awkward, thats why you share your primary.
I have a primary XTX100 on the long hose, a backup XTX100 on a bungee under my chin (and a short inflator hose off my left harness strap).

Really? When I first started I thought the stealth was cool but now all my buddies really appreciate my yellow fins in low viz conditions. Has nothing to do with buddy proximity (I think I'm pretty good with that), or and I definitely don't think high viz everything is necessary, but I find a bit of color can really be helpful/safer overall.

Nothing wrong with that. I just tried coordinating things to be blue... Not high viz and not stealth. In any event, I think a day-glow yellow octo has better contrast against a diver wearing all black. Which is really the one thing you're gonna be looking for when you're in trouble.

I think I would regret buying yum-yum yellow fins for OW diving. :rofl3:

YMMV, of course! :eyebrow:

The fin color won't keep the octo from contrasting with the dark grey wetsuit or black bc...unless you're doing underwater yoga or your desperate buddy is looking way too far south. Before he can find your octo he has to find you, and in a moment of panic a dark silhouette may not immediately stand out against a dark low-viz background, even if close by. Improve the odds is my point.

And no NC or caribbean wildlife has ever taken an interest in them, maybe just luck? They're matte yellow (apollo bios), not see-me-from-space stuff. You could call them mustard yellow but then the barracuda might really be tempted.

And lastly... I might regret spending as much on an octo as a primary, since it will spend its life dangling, unused. DIR has some useful points, but I've dived with a cptn in hatteras who for over 30 yrs only used an old tank, 1st and 2nd stage, a piece of rope, fins, mask and swim trunks, but that's a whole different thread.

sorry for the hijack...

I regret buying a Mares Morphus Pro bcd. This year I upgraded to a Zeagle Ranger LTD and am so much happier. I plan on getting a BP/W for the times when I dive my dry suit

Mask with side windows. The reflections and esp. the discontinous image at the pane joints were disorienting.

Now that I've got myself going - low volume mask with separate eye panes. The frame pressed on the bridge of my nose. I like my Oceanic Shadow now.
