I am on the National Venturing Fly Fishing Committee and will be serving on the Fishing Outpost for the next Jamboree. It's been fun! I will be offering space here for the Scuba Outpost for the 2010 BSA National Jamboree. Perhaps we can offer them a number of ScubaBoard Instructors for the 100 year anniversary of the BSA. THAT would be sweet! :D

I was a boy scout (life) and a sea scout (quartermaster), currently I am the COR for my son's boys scout troop and also for their old cub scout pack. My older son (Eagle scout 2007) and my other son currently life, is also sea scout has already earned his rescue diver cert. I am trying to get his sea scout ship to become involved in scuba diving, so that when my daughter turns 14 she can join sea scouts (sea scouts is co-ed just like all venturing) and go to seabase with her.

I'm the assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 905 in Moon, PA (yes, there are scouts on the Moon!) and we are scheduled to go to Seabase in the summer of '09. I just got my first contingent of scouts and scout leaders certified last week! Woo Hoo! The greatest feeling in the world was when they got out of the water after their first open water dive and were so pumped about diving!

We went to Gilboa Quarry in Findlay, Ohio and between all of the stuff that they had placed on the bottom and the HUGE fish that swarmed the boys, they were in heaven! Definitely a high point in my scouting career.

If any troops, crews or ships in or around the Pittsburgh area would be interested in a joint dive somewhere, let me know!

Hi,

I was a Scout (Eagle in 1984) my son (just turned 11 last week) is now a Scout and just this past weekend made his 1st open water cert dives. One more diving day and he will be a Jr OW certified.

I'm a Skipper / Advisor for a SCUBA ship, Scoutmaster for a special needs troop, ASM fo rmy son's troop, Cub Master for a special needs Pack, Den Leader for another Special Needs Pack and on the Council Committee.

Our CC (Dive Instructor) for the Ship, has contacted and plans to work the SCUBA area at jambo. I hope to be a contingent leader

My son has been in scouting since tiger, and his dad was the Cubmaster. He will have his Life rank next month, and dad is an Assistant scout master. I am a merit badge counselor. Son and I are just certified and really looking forward to this.

Earned Arrow of Light in Webelos. Became my sons Den Leader when he was in Cub Scouts. Followed him into Boy Scouts where I have served as an Assistant Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster and currently Member of Committee (My son just made Eagle). We started a SCUBA program in our Troop that has been going for 3 years. We currently have 6 adults and 8 youth PADI OW certified with four more scouts going this summer. We plan three dive outings a year. Are their any other Troops with on going Dive Programs as part of their yearly activities plan?
