Whaleshark trip week of July 18-26?

It would be 9 with you and the wife, and 10 if Novalyn goes. They offer something like one goes for free with groups of 9 or 10 so we could just deduct that from all of our costs.

I only count 7 for sures if you include oki and 1 maybe with novalyn.

If we have 7/8 the price will be $175 each. 10 people the price will be $157.5 and includes ground transportation from playa. Ferry will add an additional $22 I think.

Ya know, I'm not sure you really want to get the "numbers up" to save a few bucks..........do you know that only two snorkelers plus the guide are allowed in the water at a time?........maybe you do, but something to think about..........have fun.........Betsy

Thanks. I'd heard that too but I seriously doubt they'll only take us if we have 7 so we might as well be on a crowded boat with people from our group.

yup, plus we could tell whale tales about there being a thousands whales in the water even if there were only 2.

There were only 6 or maybe 8 to a boat our two days out of Holbox. Taking turns with only 2 in the water at a time means waiting longer for your turn with 10, fewer turns. I guess it would be good to ask early on about how many on a boat?

Whale Shark Tour - Ecotourism and ecotravel in the Mayan World of the Yucatan Peninsula
This is who guided the whale shark tour. But, I booked it with Tank Ha in Playa Del Carmen. You guys are really getting a good deal at $185 and it is 100% guarantee. However, the guarantee means if you do not see a whale shark (which you will) they will take you back out there, till you see one. But, sounds like they always see at least one, this time of year, many more than that.

The ferry is no big deal...easy to do...takes about 40 minutes max. Feels like less. I took it round trip on 3 occassions while I was there. Cost is 140 Peso one way. Just buy one way ticket, so you are not stuck on a certain time frame coming back.

Are you going to Holbox with Tank Ha? I have not clicked the link you posted but will do that now.
