By far the coolest aquarim I've ever been to. One of the best things about A-town. I can sit in front of the Belugas all day. The huge tank with the whale sharks is pretty cool as well.

Talk abot corporate though. I came real close to buying a bunch of tools at Home Depo while drinking a Coke to send them home via UPS.

And, you could stop by Bank of America to get the money to do it! - LOL!

I didn't forget about them. I left the aquarium with a high yield CD.

Nice shots by the way, thanks for sharing.

yeup... lots of corporate sponsorship, but the guy who started Home Depot gave most of the money to build the Aquarium. (out of his personal funds, not corporate). Otherwise it wouldn't be there.

Did yall know that you can dive in the main tank with the whale sharks?

Swim or Dive Program - The Georgia Aquarium

yeah... they are a little "proud" of those prices for a 40 minute dive. :shakehead:

I didn't say it was cheap. I wouldn't turn it down if it was gift but I don't see me paying to do it.

Not to get all political or anything, but I always feel a bit conflicted when it comes to whales or whale sharks in captivity and have a hard time supporting aquariums with these exhibits. As divers we have the ability to interact with these creatures in their own habitat, and seeing a whale shark behind a glass plate pales in comparison to having one swim right up to you and show genuine curiosity about you.
