Cozumel in November 2009

I am looking for a super cheap package for diving and hotel/ place to stay for two in Cozumel. I do not need any hotel amenities other than a small refrigerator in the room. I do not need mints on the pillows at night. Ideally, the place is really close to the dive dock, and ideally the dive boat is from Dive Paradise, but I am open to suggestions. Has anyone stayed at a place that is not one of the ones advertised on the Internet? Any strong recommendations, PLEASE? I am going for 8 nights in January. I am a dive instructor and I will be traveling with another experienced diver. My only requirements for the lodging is that it be SAFE and clean and two beds and near the dive dock. Contact Dive Paradise and stay at the Hotel Barracuda..They have packages available.. VERY basic accommodations, clean, safe and close to town so you can walk to restaurants and Dive Paradise has a shop and dock there.. When we stayed there in July of 08 it was around $65.00 per night... only problem I had was no room safe...well, and no A/C ( but it was July:shocked2... I have heard some complaints about the bar being loud due to the cruise ship employees.. but we didn't have a problem.

I'm getting 82 to 84 degrees water temp too. Barracuda yesterday was wierd, not much current and terrible vis. My fav so far is Palancar gardens, wow!
The taxi driver didn't know where Wet Wendys is... he thougth we were talking about Kellys bar.... will try another taxi driver tonight.

The only WW gathering I am officially aware of is Nov 23.
If you'd caught me a week ago, I'd have chased down the list for that night. To the best of my knowledge, it's at 6ish, and I think 8-10 folks.

I'm in the thick of packing, getting goodies ready to bring to pals in need, and working overtime. (Just sat down to dinner four minutes before bedtime - because I just got in from school obligation!)

I've made a couple of WW shout outs for folks to reply...

Can someone step up and generate a list for the 23rd, anyway?

Thanks, Sal. I'll fix it with Klara -- she thought she heard that 23 people were coming on the 26th so she asked me to check into it. She must have been doing too many things at once when someone told her that SBers plan to visit.

Will stop by for a few minutes -- Ironman meeting at 6:30 -- should be brief -- maybe you'll still be there after...
