No, the comfort swivel is integrated directly into the hose as part of the swaging. Atomic only puts the swivel on to rubber hoses. So it is one or the other.

As for why are the octo's so expensive. The first stage is the first half of the price and the second stage is the second half of the price. What I often suggest is that folks find a used Z1 second stage and buy the color kit (purge cover and exhaust) which basically upgrades it to a Z2 Octo.

All of Atomic's gear is expensive relative to the rest of the industry. One reason may be that they make their regs here in the USA. And as someone else posted, their quality control is second to none.

But if you drop $1,500 on a T2, they'll throw in a free reg bag!

The Z2 octo is just a Z2 without the exhaust kit and a different colour faceplate.

You can put just about any old second stage you have to use as an octo. That's what I and a lot of people do.

Yes! I bought mine in July hoping that I would find someone to go dive with me in October... have a week off and there are way too many good deals to pass up... but the person I was going to go with can't make it now....

Not to hijack the thread BUT>>>> anyone interested in going to dive somehwere like Turneffe Flats ($1260pp all inclusive + air) or Fiji ($899pp all inclusive +air) from Octo 2-9th?
