I have been reading that people with HP Miflex hoses have had failures? I currently have one and have done 2 pool dives with no problems. I am about to leave for Asia for 2 months and I am worried I might have a problem. What are peoples experiences? Should I switch to a reg hose just in case?

Do a search. I have seen some photos posted of failures of the HP hoses. Mine aren't showing any signs of wear or failure but the photos have me reconsidering. Heading out for a long trip, I might put my standard hoses back on.

The best thing to do with the miflex HP hoses is to place them firmly in the trash.

working at a dive shop in bonaire... in the three months i have been here 3 myflex HP hoses have failed- all of them were quite sudden and violent hose ruptures; luckily only one was while underwater, and it happened just under the boat at the beginning of the dive...

For any long duration dive trip I typically take an extra HP and LP hose. It is much better to have them in my kit than to pay for a replacement on site.

How reliable are the Miflex LP hoses?

I don't understand why anyone would go on a dive trip without a backup regulator set. With a backup HP hose, I would not be overly concerned about a Miflex HP hose failure.

Unless it fails in water, ruining a dive. Its a silly product that BURSTS without warning. I cannot fathom a single reason to have one of these things, I'd rather leave a pair of socks at home if weight is the issue.

Non here in MTL and im leaving the third. Guess I will pick one up in KL

I ditched my MyFlex HP hose months ago before the failure reports started rolling in. I just couldn't get used to the pencil thin diameter. So I switched to a Phantom HP hose from Innovative Scuba and am quite happy with it. Even more so now that so many complaints about the HP MyFlex hose have come in.

Peter, unlike the HP hose, the general consensus as far as I know is that the MyFlex LP hoses are very reliable.
