I know there are a few operators that offer free shore diving if you are diving with them as well. Is this the policy at Dive Paradise? For that matter, is there something worth seeing on a shore dive off Hotel Coz?

1- Free shore diving is not included in the invasion package.
2- There is a welcome tank for shore diving included in the invasion package
3- Tanks can be rented from Dive Paradise at the following rate.
Tank - US$ 6 (w/Nitrox add US$10)
4- It's Cozumel there is marine life everywhere, so you can bet I'll be doing a shore dive or 2.

I did a night dive off of the pier at Hotel Coz in Sept 09. Pleasant shallow dive. I saw lots of marine life, many I had not seen before. I found it fun and very worthwhile.

Saw nothing "big", but lots of interesting macro creatures and fish.

Next time I am in Coz, will do it again.

Good, my girlfriend has gotten her SCUBA certification (I think of it as OW LITE) and needs to build her confidence before going out for boat dives. Will those that sign up as non divers for the Invasion be able to dive ala carte with the Invasion group? I'd hate to pay for a bunch of dives that my daughter or girlfriend end up not going on.

It's been quite a long time since I've been to Cozumel, but the only time I've ever seen Marlin while diving was during a shore dive off Villita del Mar. Two of them cruised by directly overhead on their way south.

You should join the invasion, then you will know the next time is June.

Good to hear there is shore diving. Will make sure to also pack the kids dive gear...

I love the idea of the welcome tank, it will be a perfect time to make sure you are properly weighted, so you don't have to worry about it once you are on the boat.

I know I'm a fairly newbie diver, but what is a "welcome tank"??

:idk:

A welcome tank is a tank to do a shore dive with so you can get your weights and gear adjusted before you go diving on the boats.

Are you planning on going? Your "welcome" to join us! :D
