So the guy that says he has a patent pending for the flat lens is asking $43.00 for the little piece of plastic. GoPro was in my LDS on Friday and said they are comming out with a new case that will have a flat lens, etc. I hope they fix the issue with the latch free floating when the case compresses under pressure!!!

Dont worry, I purchased mine yesterday Mako - cant wait to get it
(actually, on an aside - think it will be here in Miami before my next wreck dive on the 29th? wasnt sure what your average shipping time wise)

Any of you guys using either the Pursuit Diving or Mako flat lens replacement with the GoPro Hero 960, i.e. not in 1080p mode? I'm wondering how much vignetting occurs at the edges in the various capture modes.

Mako flat lens worked great for me. I'm still amazed at the quality of the video you get for the size and price of the GoPro.

Took my GO PRO HD with Mako plat lens to 190 feet last weekend. I was a little worried about leaking, but there was no issue. The improvement in clarity was pretty dramatic. i think it provides the biggest improvement for close up video. With the stock lens anything within roughly 2 feet was really blurry, now it seems to focus like 6 inches or something.
