Thanks for the reminder, Joe... Has it really been over a decade???????
Wow!
:)
Rick

Hey, Rick,

It's only been over a decade for you: I have not aged a single day...:eyebrow:

joewr...thinking, "Don't I wish!"...

SB has a greeter squad...??
We did! You filled a need we had and was the bombdiggity at cut 'n paste!

Whose idea was it to scrap "regulator" in favor of "moderator"? We should reconsider that.

ScubaBoard needs its own Wikipedia page just to document the past for the new faces coming in.

I actually made one a couple of years back. Unfortunately, the Wiki staff removed it. :(

That would be me. We needed a clean break from how things were done. No, I won't go into any details, but some of the behind the scene antics were incredibly embarrassing and not so nice. We are a kinder and gentler lot.

Removed it? Because why?
Maybe NetDoc should sign off on it for validity?

I lurked for awhile as it was a vis report for me, the regulators were great and never over regulated in my opion. Then the orca bait started, NWdiver started and somewhere in this is when all the whining was going on, some of it was BS cause they were not enjoying what the boards and diving was.(scubasams post reminded of this) then a few members drove members away, then I decided to join in and call BS on these loud mouth members that just started diving and how they change there thoughts on there [post as they learned to dive] a couple of them still think they know way more than me with 20 years less experience.

This board is a very good way to be introduced to all of diving like it was when I was a kid and learned how to dive, the books told you everything, and when you research, SCUBABOARD can damn near give you the knowledge and at this point the knowledgeable ones are still alive and a few have found this site and are frequent posters.

Thankyou as you were part of the start of this and are very much responsible for what SCUBABOARD is today from the way you started the structure of this board.

Folks,

I was a Regulator, too, and can attest to Doc's words...whilst I was away during the "clean break" era, I can assure you that it was a good idea to make that break--clean or dirty. "Regulator" is a clever term, but "Mod" is a better idea...

However, with the involvement of the Doc, I'm not so sure about "kinder", but "gentler" is probably true...probably...:mooner:

joewr...remembering when a Regulator started to...well, maybe that story is best left for another day...my last on the ScubaBoard...:eyebrow:
