Beware of the Uwatec dive computer battery replacement seller on eBay (scubakev68).
I sent my Aladin Pro to get the battery replaced and have not heard back from the seller
and I am afraid my computer is gone too. Although eBay gave me a refund Iam unable to get my computer back.
I recently found out that this has happened to others too. Don't do business with this individual.

Services shouldn't be auctioned off like that in the first place. Winning an auction to send equipment to someone sounds sketch right off the bat. This is why it is best to have service performed by reputable shops/service facilities. Sorry to hear you got ripped off. Keep harassing the seller and maybe you'll get lucky.

I would never send any dive gear to an ebayer under any circumstances. Seems like the perfect scam. Offer low cost service for computers and regs and by the time people figure out it's a scam you could have dozens, if not hundreds of pieces of gear. I do buy products on ebay, have never bought a service. Really sorry for the loss.

Looks like scubakev68 is in the UK. eBay My World - scubakev68

He had a decent feedback score.

International shipping seems like a red flag for most transactions. Delays seem to crop up, customs issues arise, ....

scubakev68 (Jul-10-13 00:48):AS YOU AND EBAY ARE AWARE. EC058841295GB IS BEING HELD BY CUSTOMS FEE OWING £53

I'd say it's scubakev's job to clear that up with Customs, since no fee/VAT should be due in light of the fact it's not being sold to the UK just sent for service, but there seems to be an explanation.

How you get a £53 Customs charge for a used computer not even worth that much is beyond me. Though, I once made the mistake of ordering something online for the woman from AP and got a love note from US Customs claiming I owed some $240 in duty before I could claim it... told them to return it to the UK and just bought the same thing on Madison Ave for the same price (tax worked out to be about the same as shipping was). [-]Bitches[/-] Government be crazy.

Did you register your computer with Uwatec? Serial #? Let them know it is stolen.
