Wakatobi, for one. At least in the villas. When I find others, I'll let you knowWhat's an example of this? I've yet to find one anywhere yet, and I have pretty much given up that any really exist. The closest I have come was this summer at Turneffe Island Resort in Belize, however the resort turned out to not be really high end. To get that magical experience we have always had to combine a high end resort with an independent high quality dive shop, for example The Presidente and Aldora or when we were in Rangiroa, the Kia Ora and 6 passengers dive shop, as I've never found any high end resort that had the combination in house because I believe for the most part high end travelers who really want an emphasis on diving are very rare. I think you have a broader travel/dive experience than I do so if you know of this combination, where do you know of them?
But you may be right. Most high-end travelers who want an emphasis on diving go luxury liveaboard.
When I visited the Kia Ora many moons ago, they had an excellent dive shop that even offered rebreather support (the shop looked excellent though admittedly I didn't dive with them). I see now that Top Dive has the franchise. What was the benefit of using 6 Passengers over Top Dive?
Cobalt Coast on Grand Cayman was very nice. Harbor Village may foot the bill in Bonaire but they were fully booked the one time I tried to stay there.
Manta Ray Bay Hotel in Yap has come a long way from the funky place I stayed at a while back.
There are other places in Indonesia I'd like to check out the next time I get over there.
