What's an example of this? I've yet to find one anywhere yet, and I have pretty much given up that any really exist. The closest I have come was this summer at Turneffe Island Resort in Belize, however the resort turned out to not be really high end. To get that magical experience we have always had to combine a high end resort with an independent high quality dive shop, for example The Presidente and Aldora or when we were in Rangiroa, the Kia Ora and 6 passengers dive shop, as I've never found any high end resort that had the combination in house because I believe for the most part high end travelers who really want an emphasis on diving are very rare. I think you have a broader travel/dive experience than I do so if you know of this combination, where do you know of them?
Wakatobi, for one. At least in the villas. When I find others, I'll let you know :)

But you may be right. Most high-end travelers who want an emphasis on diving go luxury liveaboard.

When I visited the Kia Ora many moons ago, they had an excellent dive shop that even offered rebreather support (the shop looked excellent though admittedly I didn't dive with them). I see now that Top Dive has the franchise. What was the benefit of using 6 Passengers over Top Dive?

Cobalt Coast on Grand Cayman was very nice. Harbor Village may foot the bill in Bonaire but they were fully booked the one time I tried to stay there.

Manta Ray Bay Hotel in Yap has come a long way from the funky place I stayed at a while back.

There are other places in Indonesia I'd like to check out the next time I get over there.

CVchief - NO, you do not need a SS card to stay at SCC and I am sick of you saying that. Just because you don't want to stay there is no reason to put it down that SOME PEOPLE like to hang out with divers and not get drunk daily after 2 morning dives.

I was just there a few months ago.... do there people look like they have SS cards? A single one of them??

Well that is good to know. I though maybe it was mainly advanced divers with Scuba Specialty cards.

Me? Moss said you weren't a true high end dedicated dive resort and you had cattle boats and you pick on me? I love the look of the place. I'll buy you a drink to apologize.

Yea, I think I might have spotted a pony tank. Clearly a scuba specialist.

or do I look like I have a SS card??

Well I know you must be a scuba specialist. You are personally responsible for my ongoing, barely contained impulse to crack the case on my camera at 80ft and dump it.

So you are saying I have game? I'll settle for that. :)

what the hell is an "SS card"?

what the hell is an "SS card"?
It's either a social security card, or a socialist card. LOL He I couldn't resist chief. :D

Cool I will look into some of those.

6 Passengers vs Top dive? Just the normal comparisons typical of any dive shops where one is considered better than another. Mostly in this case Top Dive was considered more of the mass generic dive operation and 6 passenger the smaller more advanced, more customized experience.

Funny story with 6 passengers to me personally was that one of the owners Ugo dived with us almost everyday, but it took me 3 days to finally realize he was one of the owners and not just another diver on vacation. After talking to him, I found out he had over 10,000 dives on the pass and he still loved to dive it almost every day. But what was really amazing is Ugo would shoot video on every dive, after each dive he would dutifully clean his video housing and then he would take his video camera and plug it directly in to the television he had set up, he would start a little back ground music in the room and you would watch this amazing professional video about 10 minutes long that looked like it had already been edited, but it was all just raw footage he shot just moments ago on the dive, each scene was perfect from start to finish and his camera must have been set up to put a dissolve between each scene he shot as it all came out like a professional video, but right out of the camera. I've never seen anything like that before or since.

I thought that was a Naui thing like the PADI Master Scuba Diver? Maybe I am mistaken?

So now you are dissing the PADI Master Scuba Diver achievement? I will have you know that I spent hundreds of dollars and made several dives to get that.

And her second picture proved that beyond a doubt. See all those divers lugging their gear from the boat?

On the other hand, the weight-bearing exercise is good for all those seniors, helps with our burgeoning Medicare issues :)

Well, they say it takes 10,000 hours of practice before one can truly master a subject. I bet his 9,999th dive video totally sucked :)

Social Security card? I have had a Social Security card ever since I was twelve.
