A few more photos - Tuesday and Wednesday AM dives:

Is using a mirror considered harrassment? He/she was flicking its sail, but I was only able to catch it on one frame and the head/face was buried in the weeds.

Florida Barred Hamlet (new species in the latest edition of the REEF ID book). Other is a regular Barred Hamlet. Photos were taken within 20 ft of each other.

Nice find on the Florida hamlet. I was looking for him yesterday, know where he was a couple weeks ago.. then forgot exactly where the structure was..

Had a great dive today with jimw and DiveDivaDM. Also had the pleasure of meeting Lorenzoid and his wife. Vis was in the 20-25' range and while I never actually checked the water temp I would say low 80's as it has been lately.

Had some good luck with some of the finds:

Fantastic photos. I am a really bad photographer, with my little G12...no diopters. But I love finding tiny life, and love looking at macro photos. :)

Nice meeting you, too! Let me just say that my wife and I decided we LOVE BHB and can't wait to return. We ended up hiring a guide from Force-E, Brittany, and it was a good decision. As I mentioned in a post above, this was just our second dive ever at BHB and didn't find it easy the first time, so this time we let someone else do the navigating and towing the flag while we just enjoyed ourselves. The next day we dived with Jupiter Dive Center, but we ended up wishing we had just done BHB again. Okay, goliath grouper are cool, but we're much more into seeing the small stuff.

My Suunto registered a water temp of 84 F.

Can anyone tell me what the water temp averages in mid December at BHB?

Mid 70's more or less. I saw a range over the past 2 years in Dec. of 72-79 degrees in my logbook. If we heard that it was somewhat cold, we likely would not go. So, my mumbers might be skewed by that.....

We went today and saw temps of 84 in the water with viz of 25-30 ft of greenish water. Lots of the usual critters and an Eagle Ray. Followed by a nice late lunch at Pirates Well--AArghhhh!
