You can confirm that Bottom Time Divers does their own fills?

Are they able to do specific Nitrox mixes (as opposed to only the fill station standard 32% and 36%)?

I never said he did fill his own tanks and the OP didn't ask for it. Never had an under filled tank with him.

He has many advanced repeat customers. He lets you dive your computer and tank. Max 6 divers.

Do a search in this forum for Bottom Time Divers (BTD) and you find many good posts about him.

I always enjoy these dive op war threads where everyone fights to the death on who's op of choice is better LOL!

OP did ask for it:

...dive op that doesn't under fill tanks

The only way a shop can control fill levels is to do it themselves. Most Cozumel shops are unable to do this.

Another way of putting this is that not under-filling tanks is not the same thing as not filling tanks at all.

"Light fills" don't bother me unless it's ridiculous (< 2500 psi, for example), so using a shop that get fills from Meridiano 87 (or wherever) doesn't bother me in the least. However, this was one of the OP's stated criteria.

And you did say:

... checks all your boxes.

The "doesn't under fill tanks" box isn't checked.

As it turns out, most Cozumel shops except for the resort-based ones could probably meet all the other stated requirements.

I'm with Brules in believing that any thread that involves asking anything about a dive shop is going to become a list of peoples' favorite shops irrespective of the questions or criteria initially posted.

good morning from cozumel. this is a last minute trip that didn't come together until the day before i left home. managed to do some quick research here first and was in contact with tres pelicanos, but wasn't able to send the deposit in before i left. did manage to not forget anything of importance in the dive kit, though. i think. i stopped at tres pelicanos this morning and good on 'em, they are unable to accommodate my needs this week (morning dives, trying to be fair to my non-diving partner), but they 'might' be able to get me on some afternoon dives. so i got that going for me.
besides not needing and not wanting a padi 5 star, valet service, or anything that reeks of that, here''s my wish list:
a competent locally owned dive op that doesn't under fill tanks that accommodates frequent and experienced divers with a minimum of hand holding that does not hesitate to dive more advanced locations. that's it. is it too much to ask? my other option is to walk the street and throw a dart, but thought i would try here first.
thanks,
xrc
If "fill their own tanks" is code for light fills, I'd suggest (as others have) Aldora. Their standard tank is a HP120. They have enough boats so they can match diver's experience levels, so your bottom time isn't unnecessarily limited

HP 100s are also standard for female divers and air sippers

I'm cracking up at the title of the thread. Takes me back to the mid 90s when an instructor / dive god buddy showed up at a Buffett concert with his BIG cell phone lashed to his belt. When we razzed him about it, he replied that it was for dive emergencies. In Atlanta. A few of hours from the sea...

I've dove with Aldora, Living Underwater and Bottom Time Divers numerous times over the past ten years. There is always a slight variance in the tank fills in the course of a week. Never would I classify any of the tanks as a light fill. Could it happen? Sure.... with any of them. But if it did, any of the DM's on the boat would just swap it out for another tank.

This is a non issue with any reputable dive op on the island.

Essentially if the OP 100% fills their own tanks - they will be closer to true full than not. If the OP gets them from a tank fill company, they will most likely be hot filled and a 3,000 psi tank will be 27-2800 range.

End of discussion lol.

I would think that by now the OP has solved their problem.
