I would like to ask for your help in identifying this Compass brand, approximate age-range (approx date of manufacture) and/or model.

Any other comments as to its original and today's estimated price and quality (is it a piece of junk, a decent compass, or a really nice compass) are appreciated.

Aqualung supertilt. Excellent compass, I wish I had more of them.

Actually, it's a US Divers supertilt, which makes it about 20 years old. Still an excellent compass, but getting on in years.

Looks like it has been jammed into an older Oceanic hose mount.
Do you know if it 'fits' properly ?
(Or can you help guide me on what to do to determine if it fits solidly enough?)

Would it be safe (safe in terms of it not falling out of the mount) to use it?

Picture is grainy, but is that a bubble in the middle just left of the red line? If so, the case is not sealed and the bubble will probable grow over time.

They are a good compass, I own several console mounted examples.

Probably one of my favorites after the ScubaPro LS1 wrist mounted compass.

LS stands for it's inventor, Lonnie Sutherland, a Texas diver from the early days.

The SuperTilt is marketed with Oceanic's face, XS Scuba's face, USD, Aqualung, and a number of others. No problem in that mount, and I don't know if I've ever owned a supertilt that doesn't have a bubble in it.
