Thank you so much for taking your time to reply. I really appreciate the apology I will pass it along to my group.
The events that transpired at manatee didn't really bother me. It bothered a group of freshly certified divers on their first dive trip. I also appreciate the response of the other two guys. And I'll let the others know that even though the cave divers who responded were the 7th and 8th cars in line, that we misunderstood our place as 3rd inline. I remember in grade school where kids that were in front of the line would let their friends jump in front of everybody that was already in line.. so makes sense.
I just wanted to say that I apologize if I was unclear for my intentions of writing the post. I wasn't necessarily looking for an apology from the divers or anyone. The only reason I wrote the post is because Chris was called a liar by you and a few others on a group in Facebook. While I'm not a part of that Facebook group, it is public I can see everything but cannot respond. I felt I had no way to back up what Chris was saying other than to post it here.
So I feel like if anybody really deserves an apology it would be Chris Richardson. Because he was called a liar for information that he relayed from my group and his post was dead accurate to the information that was told to him. So more than anything I think Chris deserves an apology for being called a liar on a public forum.
Again thank you so much for your time to respond to me. I know we have never met and don't know each other. And I hate the first time we talked had to be over something stupid. Hope you have a wonderful day. Please dive safe and continue to spread our love for this amazing sport to people all over the world.

Summary as I understand it:
Car 1 signed first, as a group, along with some other divers from their group that were in cars further back in line
Car 2 signed in second second, as a group, along with two or three other divers that were in car/s further back in line
Everyone around at the time seemed ok but apparently some newer divers didn't understand the "signing in as a group" process that has been in place for a while at Manatee, and (from what I have read) was utilized by people related to both car 1 and car 2, and got upset by what they perceived as cutting in line.
Somewhere/somehow this issue blew up on social media, people not directly involved in the situation got involved in heated discussions, which have now made it to ScubaBoard.
Have I missed anything?

What a pleasant surprise to see adults acting like adults on SB. There was a misunderstanding which was quickly and easily fixed with appropriate apologies and explanations. Bravo! Well done.

First part of this post is related to this thread, obviously, but also just a general observation, based on years of frustration related to this topic.
I think social media is great and adds a lot of value in many ways, but I also think that disagreements are often better handled 1/1.
I understand having a concern and wanting to see it resolved one way or another. I don't understand the tendency to call out people in public before trying to get their perspective 1/1, especially if there is no real time-sensitivity. If someone has a valid concern, why not try having a discussion with the person who one thinks did something inappropriate, rather than calling them out in public?
In this case, it doesn't even seem to me that aggregious of a violation of etiquette occurred (at least from the first hand descriptions from Chris H and Chad, who I have met but don't know).
Maybe a one/one conversation would have cleared things up before it got to this point. It's just a thought.

Had i felt it would have made any difference I would have, my experience with the one person I knew was involved lead me to believe it would not make any difference at all. I don't like the whole "back channel" game that would have ensured so decided to lay this out in public.
I disagree with your synopsis of how the event transpired based on what I was told. The forth group which was part of the "cave exploration team" leapfrogged the the third group that was the new divers group. The first car/group in gate wasn't part of the cave exploration group and the second car/group was a discover scuba group. So in short while the first three groups were parking where the gate ranger asked them to the "cave exploration" group pulled up beside the gate and rushed in to beat the folks that pulled ahead where they were told. Then got all important about it.

There was one cave diver in front of us in the car line but I do not believe that he was a part of the group in question. They did not dive together from my perspective.
The second in line was a group of Discovery scuba students that dove in the spring of manatee..
Behind them was my car and three other cars. Then behind my group of 4 cars were the other cave divers. We were third in line they were seventh and eighth car inline. We were asked to pull forward and come in to sign waivers at the ranger station by the Ranger. They parked up close to the ranger station and as we were approaching the door a cave diver jumped in front of my group in between us in the door. Went to the counter and signed in behind the discovery scuba students.
So yes they did cut in line. We arrived at manatee nearly an hour before opening and got in line like the other two people before us.
So they didn't follow the order in which everyone arrived and jumped in front of the line while the other cave divers pushed through my group of eight and made their way to the front saying they had a permit and was there to extend the line on a research dive."
