I recently bought some (L) Eddy fins. Fin sizing was initially under question, but I really liked how they swim, so I’ve decided to keep them. To get a better fit, I’ve started looking for better fitting boots. I discovered that Deep 6 has some pretty nice looking boots both 3 & 5 mm (not sold in half sizes). I haven’t found any ScubaBoard postings discussing the boots and their sizing and wonder if anyone can help me out. I typically wear a 9.5 to 10 (wide) size street shoes, but my present minimalistic boots are size 42 or 9. Just wondering if the Deep 6 3mm boots run small or large and if the soles are on the thin or thicker side.

FYI.... here’s a picture, if you haven’t seen them.

I normally wear US 8.5 and bought both the 8 and 9 to try. 8 fit me prefectly and I returned the 9. The 9 seems to provide some extra length, not necessarily width or any other dimension. Soles seem to be 3mm as well. Find my thread about the 3mm boots.

Note: Since my order was only the boots, I did not get free shipping and I had to pay for return shipping, which made the boots a bit expensive overall.

I am size 9.5 - 10 shoe. Slightly wider than Normal I don’t buy wide.
Size 10 thick Deep6gear boots fit well. A little weird at first in the arch but got comfortable very quickly.
I bought the Xl eddy boots and they were too big when I stepped off the boat into the water. Boot cane off.
I have adjusted the spring to bring it in one notch (inner screw, but on one side only). Unfortunately I have not had a chance to dive them since I adjusted them. I think L would have made more sense. Live and learn.
Fins are good. The fact that they are not so negative buoyant helped me recover it before it send down 70 feet.

I recently bought those boots. I am a 9 - 9.5 with average (D) width feet. I bought the 9. They fit but it is tight in terms of length when I'm standing. My toes just touch the end of the toe box. For diving boots they are fine. In the water I don't notice the tightness at all probably because there is no weight on them so my feet aren't spreading out. But, it they were boots to walk in they'd be too tight. You should probably go with a 10. Finally, I'd say the soles are on the thinner side. Fine for walking on smooth surfaces such as concrete, asphalt or sand... but not rocks.
