Left behind and only complaining about getting 1 of 2 dives (and not refunded for the second)? Seems a little different than how I would be writing it. Something is a bit odd here. Watching to see how this plays out...
Exactly. Had this been me, I think I would have been telling how long I was left out there, who found me and returned me to the dock, and just what Buddy Dive had told me was the reason for leaving me, why they weren't refunding, not only the 2nd dive, but my entire fee I paid to them for the dive trip in an attempt to keep me from suing them. And I've never been on a dive boat that didn't not only take a head count, but did a roll call as well.

I've only left one negative review for a resort in Coz. And while I loved the diving, the resort itself left a lot to be desired in a number of ways. I left way more detail about that than this person did bout being left in the ocean. It just doesn't sound quite right.

Would love to see Buddy Dive's response to this.

If a cruise ship passenger, they were likely diving either Klein Bonaire, or more likely one of the reefs fairly close to Buddy Dive. In either of those locations, even if left by the dive boat, it would be a relatively easy swim to a shore. Being left out in the ocean sounds more than a little overly dramatic.

Drunk driving is not OK if you make home accident free.

A boat leaving someone behind is BAD. There are a long list of emergency situations that could be taking place or the person is simply late returning. All of these are unacceptable if diving in the middle of the ocean or 50 feet from land. The fact the person made it back safe does not negate this near miss.

Right. If it actually happened. Just sayin'.

Hard to know what to make of this. I've been on Buddy Dive boats many times and they run a very tight operation. Sometimes too tight for my personal liking. There is always a head count and roll call at the end of every dive. The DMs watch the divers in the water very closely. One at the front and one at the back of the group. Everyone dives together and turns around at the same time.

Accidents certainly can happen but it would be nice to know more before being judgemental.

My neighbour the divorce lawyer always says there are 3 sides to every story: his, hers, and the truth.

Interesting... It was a long time (22 years) ago that I was there on my honeymoon, and with dove with Buddy Dive. Boat dives were basically just a taxi, and a briefing. Jump in, and explore. Be back (time/pressure), roll call, and depart....

It was many years of diving until I actually experienced a DM/guide in the water..... I do appreciate guides who know the little hiding spots for cool stuff, but I do not need a DM to help me dive....

Some people are never happy, they are just trying to get a free ride. Like someone eating most of their meal and then saying they don't like it. Some people have no shame. I bet thats what happened here, and they wouldn't give the money back so she wrote a scathing review to "show them".

This sounds fishy to me. 4 DMs??? If that is correct, that is way more than the typical number of DMs in the water....or on the boat for that matter. I was on Buddy boats last May, we had 1 captain and 1 DM for our entire group. We did a roll call on every dive so exactly how were they missed. Buddy does not have any huge boats so for a crew of 5 with 4 DM's the diver to DM ratio would have to be pretty low.

Then there is the "I have dove all over the world but I was having buoyancy issues"....really.., a very experienced diver who has major buoyancy issues? Could happen but not likely. Now I would believe they were such a bad diver that the DMs would not let them back in the water after the first dive. I know BD DMs will do that.

My best guess is this is a real jerk who is never happy with anything. Go and have fun.

Been a guest at buddy dive more times than I can count. Standard crew on boats is 1 captain, 1 DM as crew. Never seen 4 DM on boat . The 1 DM is in the water with divers and you can opt to follow him/ her or dive your plan with your buddy. This review does not seem right to me.

I think that the OP gets the point.

Below is the important data from Tripadvisor for Buddy Dive. There is no conceivable hotel or dive operator anywhere on the planet that isn't going to get a review like the one from "Angela Gaxiola".

One of the important things about growing up in Internet culture is being aware that a single data point is meaningless, or worse, deliberate misinformation. And that anonymous reviews (especially from accounts with limited posting history, with no way to corroborate a story) are worth exactly what you pay for them...
