I had some work done on my reg that is sold online only. the tech was making fun of the reg and was not happy to see it, but he still worked on it and the charge was reasonable. I could have also sent it back to the company and received free service. Of course the reg comes with spare set of parts and the service manual is online for free, so I really do not have patience for any LDS that does not want to service it.
Yea... I think we are talking about the same reg. Why making fun of it? The color perhaps

@mbs I think it’s because it is similar to the Hog design and the tech looks down on them as inferior quality

So when you bring your car to the shop for new tires and the guy later tells you your ball joints are bad and you need new shocks what do you think he's doing?. Do you really need that stuff? It's sales, weather it is a commission to him or to help the business he works for to stay open., or to keep his boss happy or whatever. The name of the game to most businesses now a days is to get in your pocket. Just sayin.

There is no "one size fits all" rule. Many shops, including me, will not work on a brand for which they have no manufacturer specific training, manuals, parts, authorization, and resource/contacts for questions that arise. If you bring me a brand I don't service, I will get it to someone who does, and is trained, authorized, etc.

Now if an online brand is willing to freely provide me the same support and authorization for a brand I don't sell, I would have no problem with that.

But many will NOT just plan to figure it out as they go no matter what the item.
if ya get any Deep 6 regs for service, call, will be happy to support ya

lots of hog regs are worked on at lds the "other one" I have heard lds wont work on them . any reg tech the knows anything sould be able to work on "the other guys reg no problem .... as for 35 dollars a stage @herman is right the kits cost more than that so hes right about the quality you are getting .............I work on most regs that I can get parts for .....buy established regs you wont have a problem I get regs shipped to me all the time turn around is a week depending on parts avail..........faster than most lds

I will be sending directly to said online for servicing. Shipping is not a problem as they are only 2 hrs from me. At some point I’ll be taking the class and doing it myself.

the service kits are highly inflated at retail. if you get them in bulk direct from ODS/Aquatec, they are a lot cheaper. still money to be made at 35 dollars a stage.

who are ods/aquatic?

the service kits are highly inflated at retail. .
WOW, since I buy them and they are free for my customers, that they are highly inflated is news to me, thanks
