if you find the time you could do a quick write up on the c370.

there is not much on the board about it and, as a SP affordable option I'm sure a lot of people would be interested!
I was thinking about breaking off from this thread with some info on the 370 and maybe we should start a “life with the 420” thread with diving experience and tuning tips. The 370 rivals the 260 in performance once tuned but I based this one one dive where I switched between the 420 and the 370.

Using my Atomic T3 with a T3 2nd as octo, for comparison. I'll start with the D420 on the long hose.
We'll be doing Spiegel Grove, Duane, and the Vandenberg off Key West along with French Reef for the shallows.

Using Quiescence for their small boats off Key Largo, Captain's Corner for the Vandenberg and Captain Hook for a Key West night dive.
I'm really hoping you two can make it work for you. I'm sorry that both of you seem to have had poor tuning out of the box, but let's call it "growing pains." Clearly lever position is important, and interestingly, it should be floppier than tighter, which we can discuss later. But once you eliminate that small freeflow, I'm hoping the valve performance will shine, if not bubble dispersion.
its a challenge, I feel like the lever may be to loose and just not getting the valve lift for full flow, enjoy the diving.

Ok, just put my D on a gauge, ip140, cracking at .6" WTF? No idea how that happened as I set it to 1-1.1" checked it, double checked it and checked it again. I'm stumped. My gauge is fine.

Lever now about a <1mm below case rim, there's about <1mm travel between lever and diaphragm. Have the set cracking to <1.2", checked it about 10 times. I'll leave it sitting a while and will check it again.

Honestly, have no idea how it went from 1-1.1" downtown .6" although that'll explain why it was leaking and why I thought it was breathing so nicely today.

Very strange indeed.

It’s a case of “simon fault geometry” there may be a break in period, if you had carried the Allen wrench you could have done the final tuning at depth. I did find the performance better in the water than in the shop and I did have a stiff current at the end of my second dive, I got plenty of air but I had to work harder for it.

I think it's a really good idea, the d420 could still stay here but if you share info on the c370 I think it should be on a dedicated thread (or a revival of one of the few old ones)

I'll bet someone could 3D print on easily enough. Or just dive with an SS hex key always in it. LOL
@buddhasummer , @lexvil , and @rsingler , if one one of you gentlemen wanted to give me some dimensions (hex socket size, depth, and diameter of the sticker covering it) I'd be happy to rip out a design and print a dial for it.
A brand new reg isn't in my budget, but I'd happily live vicariously through helping you folks improve it! Lol
Respectfully
James

That would be awesome James. Give me about an hour and I'll get the dimensions. Thanks a bunch.

Nice, I’ve though about this since it was mentioned earlier, unless someone beats me to it I’ll get a battery for the digital calipers and get some measurements.

No worries, I love the solving of problems for its own sake!
I'll try to get something printed this week and in the mail. PM me an address (preferably APO to save on overseas shipping! Lol).
