Good idea, I'll start with it unchanged and if necessary increase effort using @James79 adjuster until free flow stops and put it on my mag gauge after.

I'll try it in both bungeed necklace position and in the more standard triangle.

Ok, as octo update:

In a nut shell based on my non scientific testing I'd not be comfortable using one as back up until further testing was done.

Prior to getting in was cracking 1.2-1.3" closer to 1.3". When I took it out of my mouth mouthpiece up was free flowing, if I put mouthpiece down was dribbling moderately.

Using @James79 adjuster turning in about 3mm adjuster, same dribble. Turned it in a fraction more still dribbling, by now I'd guess cracking must have been close to 1.5", I could notice it was a tad harder to breathe. I tried to turn it down further but at that point the adjuster fell out so could test no further.

The dive/pre dive lever didn't seem to have much of an effect.

Need @rsingler to do more comprehensive and scientific testing, but as it stands I'd prefer a back up with adjuster knob.

Not surprised at the freeflow mouthpiece up. Every single one of my regs will do that. As for dribbling when you turn it down, that's not really surprising either. You need to stop the flow completely and let the valve close. Once it's open, it takes positive effort to stop it. When I get to dive again, I'll run some tests, and let you know.

Thanks Rob, I'd not trust my findings, I'll leave it in your capable hands. I do need to re tune it now after all my fiddling yesterday. I'm going to do that later today, hoping I can re tune it without issue, I won't lie, feeling a tad anxious.

Been following this thread forever , reminds me of 1968 when my brother and his friends were always fine tuning their MG Sports cars , they loved them but never , never got them right , thanks guys ...

I'm only interested because I'm OCD and would like a matching pair. Of course I'm in no financial position to even consider that.

Given how much little use a back up gets my logical mind says it would be a waste of money even if I could afford it.

I'm interested to know if it could fill that role though.

I think your little C370 is a great match for the D on back up duty.

I think when tuned correctly, as mine was prior to my fiddling yesterday, as a high performance second stage it looks to be a success. Don't let my blind fumbling put you off it.
