And what now? 16th of July? Victoria recorded 317 new cases of coronavirus in 24 hours, the highest daily total recorded by any state or territory since the pandemic began

There's a lot more concerning things in the world & in Australia, than the continuous attention grabbing media coverage of covid

It's not gonna stop people from diving, you should already know that by now. Dive boats have been fully booked out across the world during a pandemic. Or have you clearly overlooked that fact? I'm sure fellow scubaboard members already have or can tell you how good it is to be back in the water post covid isolation

You shouldn't focus on negative things of media. The majority of divers that travel to Indonesia aren't scared of covid. They may care for marine life & the lives of others, but they're not scared nor ignorant of covid

Time to start advertising what kind of marine life will be around in September around your dive centre areas. Get people enthusiastic about the return

Really? I was just exchanging texts with a cruise director on an Indonesian LOB. I asked him if my trip booked for September was going ahead. He said that he did not know. Meanwhile, he is at home in Spain enjoying time with his family.

FWIW, my LOB bookings for April, May, June, July, August and October 2020 have been rescheduled. Just because a LOB is fully booked does not mean that the trips are running.

In case you've been living under a rock, Indonesia has pretty much been locked down until a few days ago with no tourism

I sincerely hope your travel plans work out, as you got some good spirit to want to dive in Indonesia soon

All the best mate

I was in doubt if and what to reply. But curiousity won. I have no idea where I can find the information that dive boats have been fully booked out. Not even sure to which other pandemic you refer. I remember that during Sars all our guests, without exception, cancelled their stay with us. Although, as far as we know, there was not one case of SARS here. There are no negative or positive facts in my personal philosophy. Only good and bad intentions. I am surprised that, contrary to the data and facts as far as they are available at the moment, you simply refuse to adjust your opinion to reality. Please try to book a flight to Indonesia for September (seven weeks from now) and explain as well how to arrange all paperwork needed for that.

and trying to argue with @DownUnderwater Dan proves by itself how difficult these times are for you. Can you imagine few months ago having time to reply to such ridiculous posts?

BTW here in Greece we have opened our borders for tourism from several (mainly European) countries for 2 weeks now but things are far from ideal. Although the visitor numbers are still very low to make any noticeable difference for the economy, everyday 10s of incoming tourists are tested positive and put in quarantine while local cases are increasing - slowly for the time being but it is just a time bomb.

All the best...

Bit ridiculous just whining how bad your situation is without thinking of a brighter future

I think from a diving and a tourism business point of view, operators have got a responsibility to talk it up in a positive way instead of scaremongering

And mate, how is it a ridiculous post when people already posted on this thread that flights have been full, boats have been full, at different continents & countries of the world?

I think you owe me an apology for your insult. I won't hold it against you

If you read my post Mr Non-Ridiculous, I encouraged Indah to be positive and to advertise his positivity to potential new customers in the very near future. Because divers are tired of BS

Ok I apologize. Whatever...

BTW here in Greece which is one of the very few countries in the world that are (somewhat) open for tourism right now things are VERY VERY far from being full - even half full (I won't say half empty - I like to keep positive too  ) is very far away.

It is something to be positive and something else to be realistic.
