I'll probably just miss you. I'm in Cozumel from 8/28 - 9/4 then on to Xcalak/Mahahual for a week.
It sounds like you have a great trip planned. Please post a trip report that includes your thoughts on Xcalak and Mahahual. They sound like very interesting destinations.

three weeks to go. spending the whole week in Coz and diving with Pelagic Ventures and Plongee Grand Coz. Probably just going to stay at Maria Carmen. Anyone else going to be in Coz from 9/3 through 9/10?

You must be SOOOOOO ready for this trip!!!!

Will do. I actually flew here a week early in case the mess in the gulf was gonna threaten my flight next Friday. Marcos missed us but left a nice sunset.

Coz sunsets are the best. Nice shot.

Does anyone know if it's possible or where to buy ground lamb on the island?

No idea. Good luck, though. Lamb is not really a big Mexican staple.

There is a very nice South African gentleman named Toni who is currently operating Cantaritos bar and grill on calle 2 just off ave 5 on the north end of the square. Toni has been operating a sausage and meat business for years (best Cajun sausage I have ever had). You might swing by and inquire with him, if it's available he can either get it or tell you where you can get it.

Cantaritos had a country music night each week during last winter season.
Not sure if they are still doing it.
