My drysuit is on its way so I'm trying to decide on undergarments at the moment. I had all but decided on the J2 + Arctic two piece. Then I was thinking for a few more dollars I should get the Exo and Arctic, then I could wear just the Exo in summer. Correct me if I'm wrong but there's no warmth in the J2, and the Exo is a "base layer" which adds warmth right? If so, why would you need the J2 and the Exo?

The ankle rides up a little as I put the Exotherms or arctics when layered on top. Less of an issue with the arctic alone as it is looser.

Tuck J2 into wool socks before you put the top layer on.

The J2 is pretty thin, so any warmth added will be very minor. But J2 is designed to be more of a base layer with anti-microbial silver fibers. So I am thinking it would be better for long trips.

I'll give that a try next time. It isn't a huge issue.

I have the same issue with my base layer. I wear merino wool socks under my Fourth Element Arctic socks. Just tuck them in. I had to scratch my head a bit about this, then I remembered you're Mr Florida. Thermals under jeans aren't part of your winter wardrobe. :D

Yeah I am still wearing shorts in the middle of winter. Just with a jacket and a watch cap on.

Put on your base layer, then put on your merino wool socks make sure the legs are well tucked into the socks.

Again merino wool base layer. For undergarment do the following.

1. Drink at least 1 gallon of water

2. Grab your drysuit

3. Go try each undergarment on wearing your base layer. When you try them on put on the drysuit with them on.

4. The one that fits best is the one for you
