Anybody love love love the XDeep?
I do, it is another great option which I own and is my travel setup. While a BP is a BP (though there are some differences, primarily with edge polishing, number of holes for adjusting placement), I do like their logo and think they look great. Their wings are top quality and dry quickly. If you don't like Hogarthian, then you'll need to look elsewhere. Honestly, what I would recommend doing is to buy webbing, get some parts from a fabric store for buckles, and go to a shoe repair shop to sew the pieces together. I paid $6 spot sewn (you'd need 4). LMK if you are intersted in learning more.

While I do have the Subgravity harness for my rebreather, I don't have their wing so can't speak about it.

I like the 4 bungee slots, 2 on the top and 2 on the lower sides, which would provide anchor spots to mitigate any taco effect. Looks like it has a slot on the bottom for the crotch strap to route through as well.

Hello friends. I've recently returned to diving after a 26 year surface interval. I geared up for shore diving in Maui and was pleased with the 2022 Scubapro Level BC; it is comfortable for walking around with tank and integrated weights. It's basically a better version of what I learned on. I dove with 16 pounds of lead, AL80, 1 mm skin.

For boat diving and especially international travel, I'm starting to succumb to the SB siren call of BP/W for the simplicity and compactness. Bare bones DIR? Not there yet. One thing is certain: I have determined not to wear thick wetsuits and hoods ever again. We are talking warm sea water, a few times a year.

In summary: I am now a tropical vacation diver, a fairly fit manatee (orca?), recreational only, single tank only, AOW certified, focused on UW photography and the zen of diving. I'll use whatever tanks are typical at the destination - anything from AL80 to steel 120; intrinsic buoyancy will vary. Looking now at additional BC options. Any insights are appreciated.

The xDeep stuff is sexy yet pricey. Plain DIR is too bare bones. I tried a Zeagle Express Tech--the 24 pound U-shaped bladder is too small for my comfort zone and I'd need to add a bunch of stuff to make it work well. So in the "in between," I've looked at the Subgravity Paragon single tank package and the HOG system. Probably a 30-32 pound wing. Will opt for the front-adjustable harness to accommodate my bad rotator cuffs. No one in the area seems to stock them. So advice will be helpful.

Those who have tried these or others not mentioned, please weigh in. So to speak. :)
Have 2 of the subgravity paragon setups. Very simple, their weight systems are very simple and streamlined. I added their backplate sliders to make It easier to get in an out of. I think the entire setup only costed around 650 also, that was last year tho. If subgravity is out of stock, try dive addicts. I’m pretty sure they’re the same company in some way. Let me know if you need any specific pictures of my setup

Yes, would enjoy seeing pics, thanks. Which SG weight system? I'm looking at horizontal. But the small vertical looks good too.

I use the small vertical, you can put up to 5lbs max in each pocket. In salt water with a 7mm wetsuit, hood and gloves I need an additional 4lbs so I could add more it diving dry. The horizontals have a higher capacity if I’m not mistaken. The trim weight pouches that are used on the backplate are also very helpful and stay out of the way. I’ll get some pics today

I have the same set up, really like it with two trim pockets attached to the backplate, not the band ones. Keep wondering if I should use a SS plate and only need trim pockets. Gear will drive you crazy. 3lbs travel weight isn’t much impact.

Yes, still going back and forth on stuff. But for me, steel plate and small vertical weight system might win out over aluminum plate and horizontal weight system. Trim pouches for the cam band come with the package regardless. Thanks for the feedback.

Here is one way to fine tune weight distribution if you are diving cold water. It is probably unnecessary with warm water diving (i.e. not much weight needed).

So I’m back to Subgravity Paragon single tank package with 30 pound wing and aluminum plate.

Anyone have concerns about the odd anterior location of the hip dump, or any other aspect of the SG?
I have never had any issues at all with my Sub Gravity wing. I love their whole system.
