Impossible. I remember when I visited EE the first time to buy non-Halcyon equipment they offered me for free some Kool-Aid. After we drink it, I continued shopping and looking at some gear without the blue-H they told me that the Kool-Aid was poisoned and I had the following choices:
  1. Die in the next 5 minutes from a heart attack holding these split fins I was looking for.
  2. Buy a full set of H-approved gear for twins and get the antidote.
And that's how I am still alive. If you ask me, just from this experience, Halcyon gear is a hard requirement for safe diving.
:coffee:
they're a dive rite dealer now

You probably aren't going to get invited on a GUE Seattle charter then, problem solved for everyone.
That sounds totally fair to me. GUE should be able to invite anyone they want on their charter.

Same goes for me..... I have my own boat up here in the Puget Sound and I choose who goes and who doesn't.

But I guess that brings up another subject that a Non-Gue diver might be interested in knowing about.....which is the topic of this thread!

If GUE Charters a full boat, do they only allow GUE divers, GUE equipment configs and GUE compliance?

The data I posted shows that it is more likely to have a fatal accident when the buddy system fails
I don't think it does. In many of the separation cases likely happened due to a medical event. Like on a descent in current and bad viz conditions, for instance.
Just posting that % number doesn't tell you anything. You have actually have read the reports. I think you've made your mind up, telling from your tone.
I'm sure if you knew of a case where solo or separation was the cause or the major factor, you'd tell me happily.

If you think your buddy is a great diver and he is not, he might be a placibo.

I know of cases where solo diving or separation was the cause or a major factor. is this post like a practical joke or something? are you serious?

That's actually pretty darn funny!

Nice boat. Where's the dive lift?

No dive lift...... But in the pic you can see the power davit. Sometimes we use that post dive to pull gear up and over the gunnel into the cockpit..

And I should mention that I'd be fine with a GUE buddy team on my boat as long as they weren't assholes......AND....I was assured that they had sufficient cold water low vis experience.
