This is the reason I asked the question. When I started learning about scuba on my discovery tour I was really intimidated. I thought I needed to memorize every term and technique to the letter. When I finished the full course and had a handful of dives under my belt I realized the important...
The PADI manual calls them buoyancy control devices but apparently its not really that important. Ill be calling them BC's from now on.
:-P
Thanks everybody!
Hey Everyone,
I know this may sound like a stupid question and I am a newbie so please bare with me, I have a couple questions.
I am a newly certified open water diver and would like to know everyone's thoughts on calling your buoyancy control device a BCD or a BC. On my first discovery...
Nice to meet you dean. I have some family that lives out in Madison. I don't think they dive but I'm interested to know a little about the diving available out there.
Hi Kellie,
I am by no means an expert. Actually I am very new to scuba and this board. I posted a similar question and the advice I got from a couple people were to get the Suunto Gekko. I was told it is a great computer for the price, at least fro a beginner like myself. Again I have no actual...
Welcome. This site has been a great resource already and I just joined a couple days ago. I hope you gave a great dive in October. I just got my cert a couple weeks ago and am going diving in the Caribbean in a couple weeks.
I was pleasantly surprised when I found these dives. Its a standard Disney Cruise but they offer about a million different "Adventures" (or something like that) while at shore. The two dives were just one of the options for each island. They also had discovery scuba and snorkeling for each...
Hey Everyone,
I am leaving for a Disney cruise in a little over a week. I signed myself and my fiancee up for the only two dives Disney offers on this cruise. The first dive is in Tortola and the second is in St. Thomas. I have listed the descriptions below. If any of you have any reviews or...
Thanks again everyone for this helpful and valuable advice. I went ahead and purchased the BC. It only cost me $100 with shipping and to sweeten the deal the seller threw in some Mares full foot fins in my size (good as a backup pair). The add said the BC was "Brand New" and I figured that the...
Thanks a lot DevonDiver. That is great advice. I just found a BCD pretty cheap in the classified section. Its a Mares Vector Origin 1000. Any thoughts? Thanks again.
Hey Bruce, I will be on my cruise on the 12th but I would am definitely interested in the program. I am just getting started and have a lot to learn. What dive clubs do you suggest? I live in Playa Vista, very close to Marina Del Rey. Thanks for the advice!
