Going to take an open water class need gear advice

You can use cheap, thin booties for entering off sandy beaches or stepping off a boat but they might be painfull for walking over rocks getting in and out of the water. Another reason to ask the instructor about where your training will take place. Make sure your booties will fit under the...

Should OW certified divers be taken into a deep wreck? Overhead? Thread split

Was the witness who posted earlier in this thread Open Water qualified? If they tied in at 95 feet in current he shouldn't have been there let alone the talk of a swim thru. Any word on a recovery yet? ---------- Post added March 7th, 2015 at 08:35 AM ---------- I don't mean to be...

    Seeking Advice

Apparently the dive shop closed for the winter, weird as you can dive there year around. The QM realized it was not my fault will let me certify and will take issue with the shop when they resume business next season. Future DM's make sure you keep at least a receipt to prove if the hologram...

    Seeking Advice

I completed PADI DM with a shop in Greece in July and have since moved back to the States. I have been inquiring as to the status of my application and have found that it is on hold due to the hologram being missing from my application the shop sent it. I don't have the hologram or a receipt...

LDS has used Tusa Reg setups for sale. Good Deal???

You might be ok if you can find someone who you can take them to or send them to for service until you can do it yourself. If there is no local tech then contact www.airtechscubaservices.com or scubatoys.com with the model info to see what the viability of getting them serviced would be and for...

Solo Diving Cert: Should I get new BC or stay with old one?

To expand upon what UNCFNP pointed out. Sometimes divers have trouble venting from a good horizontal position in the water; try raising your inflator hose and position yourself more vertical when venting air. Air gets trapped in BC sometimes and you have to reposition to move the bubble where...

One day to dive... do you bring it all?

I think you will be fine with computer and regulator. I have found rental gear to be rather inexpensive over here. Water temps are still cool, better to have the right wetsuit for the conditions which the shop should have.

    Service Record

Hello, I sent my regulator to have its annual service and the shop lost the booklet where the yearly entries are made documenting the service. I am waiting for a response from the shop as to what they intend to do about this. My question is, will I have problems getting the free parts...

    Moving to Misawa

Hello, I am moving to Misawa later this year and wanted to know what the diving is like there? Haven't found any shops online, are there any? Do they dive year around? Any info would be great.

    Coltri Sub Gear

Hello, I don't mean to throw anyone under the bus and I understand that this forum is intended for Coltri Air Compressor products but is there anyone manning the Coltri Americas Office or is there any product support in the US anymore for non-comppressor gear, ie BCD's, regulators, etc? I have...

    Iantd

Hello, my apologies in advance if I posted this in the wrong section. My job has me overseas for a year and the LDS uses IANTD, I am not familiar with this agency. If I continued my certifications with this agency, would I have any difficulties using them back in the States?
