Can A VT Pro Transmitter be Used on Newer Oceanic Integrated Computers

After many good years of use, I'm finally giving up on my beloved VT Pro Integrated Computer because it keeps flooding. I have successfully and unsuccessfully replaced the battery and my LDS has also successfully and unsuccessfully replaced the battery. I sent it back to Oceanic once and they...

Can UWATEC Smart Coms be Repaired?

Thanks for the recommendation. I contacted Brass Anchor and they said no problem, $50 plus shipping. I first took it to my regular LDS and I think they were trying to be helpful but had no clue it was oil filled and that the battery had to be soldered in. I then called a local Scuba Pro shop...

Can UWATEC Smart Coms be Repaired?

I took my son's UWATEC Smart Com computer into my LDS to have them replace the batteries and when they took off the back they said the seals must have leaked and there was oil everywhere. Is this something Scubapro can repair (and how much) or is this computer toast? :depressed:

Oceanic VT Pro Low Air Reading

On my last dive trip to Cozumel, I complained to the divemaster that I was getting low fills on my tanks (2,800). She tried several different reg sets on my tanks and they showed that my tanks were registering around 3,100. Is there some kind of adjustment that can be made to my...

    Resorts we should avoid?

At the Iberostar, every guest who goes into the Gulf uses the dock because the beach is mostly coral. Why are divers penalized for using the dock while swimmers are not? ---------- Post added August 19th, 2013 at 09:51 PM ---------- I've dove with Alison 6 times and she has never picked up...

Iberostar / Dressel Divers in Coz

Most dive operators will pick you up at any hotel. However, some operators will no longer pick up guests at the Iberostar now that they are charging operators a monthly fee to pick up THEIR guests. DD is okay as long as you like going out on boats with 25 other divers. They have a fixed dive...

    Resorts we should avoid?

I agree that we should boycott the hotels who penalize our favorite dive operators. I've stayed at the Iberostar 6 times and I have gone diving with Scuba with Alyson 6 times. These fees penalize the small operators that we like to dive with. If they stop at multiple hotels to pick up...

    Southwest Cozumel

Dressel Divers is the on-site operator. I dove with them on my first of 7 trips to Coz. I don't like them because they go out on large cattle boats (25+ divers), they have a strict dive schedule so if its Tues., they only go to these reefs, and if the buddy they pair you up with runs low on...

    Coz temps and Sabor

Last month the water temp was 85-86 at 100 ft. I doubt it varies much during the year. I've stayed at the Iberostar 6 times (its nice and the closest resort to the reefs) but they have started charging dive operators $50 a month to use their dock and my dive operator, Scuba with Alyson, will...

    Dive shop located at hotel

I stay at the Iberostar and Scuba with Alyson picks me up at the hotel each day. If you are continuing to dive with her, she takes your BC and reg set home each night to clean. The next morning it is sitting on a tank when you board. At the Iberostar, Dressel Divers, the on-site dive op, has...

    Lionfish/DM's don't care!

Was in beautiful Cozumel last week for my sixth time and I found a Lionfish on Dalila. My DM captured it and our boat driver put it in his aquarium. A fellow diver at my hotel told me his DM had captured two and killed one on Dalila earlier in the week. I was in the Bahamas last summer and I...

How many Scouts and Scouters are on ScubaBoard (Boy Scouts)

Our troop did a live a board Blackbeard scuba cruise in the Bahamas last year and the scouts loved it. I did 17 dives and could have done more if the weather had cooperated. We won a lottery slot for the Seabase live a board in 2010 but our scouts voted to go back to Blackbeards. Since our...

    Lionfish in Cozumel

We captured a 4" Lionfish on Dalila Thurs 7/9/09. I found it under a rock ledge out of the current. A fellow diver at my hotel told me his DM caught two and killed one on Dalila earlier that same week.
