Dove with Spectre on Sunday. First site was Pelican Rock. I would call viz at 40 even though captain said 80.. was very pretty though. Zero current. The next two sites White Cliff and Canyons were more like 20-40 depending on where you were on the site. The last site had a little current if you...
@anchochile
Short answer is no. Just go buy yourself a setup from any reputable company and go diving. Can't go wrong with a setup from vintagedoublehose.com
Long answer is maybe...
It's 100% up to you. If you are super duper tall or super short it could be a good idea to find the right size...
There's no wrong answer to the weighting question. Do what makes you feel comfortable. I have the plate with weight plates and a very small weight belt (Mako rubber and pinch weights) and that gives me warm and fuzzys when I dive. I like to keep some on myself and not on the rig but that's just...
Yeah I ended up using the screws cause I was on a boat where I had to swap tanks multiple times a day and it saves some effort getting it lined back up. But the combo DOES work fine without them.
Just so you can see the spacing on the bands with a DSS plate and VDH 35 wing. (looking back I would have appreciated it so here you go!) This is with the top hole lined up.
For Sale - wing and back plate
There's a small (we think) kydex plate you could see if still available. Good deal IMO.
And to answer the question about a VDH 35 on a DSS plate see below. Fits perfectly and you don't have to completely remove the cam bands to remove the wing. Just undo the...
I have a VDH 35 on a DSS large plate with just the cam bands and it works great. If anything buy a couple of these to keep it perfectly positioned and attached when there is no tank.
DGX Assembly Screws, Plastic, Set of TWO
I usually turn them 180 degrees off. If you just turn till the light turns off on the surface then at about 60' they will turn back on. But with the full half turn they can't turn on regardless of pressure.
As far as not turning them on under water, I would say that's being overly cautious...
I have a pair of Orcatorch D520. Twist on, triple o ring, comes with 2 batterys and a dual charger from Amazon for $75. Or $65 with a single battery from LP. And extra o-rings and a throw away lanyard .
I think the size is perfect, one of the most compact 18650 lights I have seen that are...
I bought the E7-100 tonight for $50. Looks really good. Based on the markings I think it was made 8/2003. Can't find any other hydro stamps.
Will try and drop it off tomorrow for hydro and hope all turns out well. If anyone has a place they recommend in Los Angeles or Ventura county let me know.
What would a good price to pay for a E7-100 that is out of hydro? With all things considered in this thread and others I am not sure about buying one I found used.
Is there a born on date on these cylinders?
Any word about the SP being renewed yet?
Didn't want to start a new thread...
I would recommend just rinsing really well with warm fresh water and hang to dry in the shade on a wetsuit hanger. Pretty simple.
If you feel like your suit has a little funk going on I recommend "Sink the Stink" or something like it. Just don't pee in it and you will be fine.
If you want it...
@tbone1004 I have a VDH 35 wing that I tried to put a brand new DSS dump on. It didn't quite seal up properly and seemed to bled down before the wing was super firm. With the VDH standard dump it will hold a much higher pressure. Please report back if you get one to work. Also I am very very...
