Up-country, particularly places like Makawao. If you get away from the beaches, you'll find cheaper places. Makawao is about 10-15 minutes away from Pa'ia beach, about 20-30 mins away from Kahalui Airport, and about 30-45 minutes from the south shore (Kihei), depending on time of day, traffic...

I just got back from Maui this morning. I went to Molokini with Ed Robinson Dive Company, and he runs a great operation! I tried Mike Severns, but they stay pretty booked up...you can try them, and you can call them every evening to see if they have cancellations. Ed Robinson...no problem...

We used to fill up 30.06 shells with match heads, tamping them down, leaving one sticking halfway out, then crimping the ends tightly. When you light the match head sticking out, it's like a rocket. At night, you could hear the shells falling about 2 blocks away. That was my favorite, because...
