You could try smiths cove,its just down the road from george town.also cemetary reef its about 15 min ride from town.it of course won't be nearly as good as the diving but at least you can get wet,see some fish and enjoy the scenery.

We have rented from Andys twice and will be using them a 3rd time the week after next.We have had good luck with them and always a good price.

Thousand steps is a good dive,Quite a haul,but huge coral formations and lots of large barracuda.Bari reef is also very nice it runs in front of Sand Dollar resort and Buddy dive resort.You can rent tanks right at Sand dollars dive shop and just do a giant stride off the pier and the reef/mini...

Nubble light in York Maine is a nice dive.Lots of rocks, lobster and fish.Nice day trip,its a very pretty town too.Maybe 1and 1/2 hrs drive from Boston.It would still be pretty chilly late May/early june though.
