2013 Scuba Resolutions

my goals (in this order)

1. turn GUE-F tec provisional into a tec pass
2. TDI trimix certification
3. a few more fun dives in Puget Sound with the great people out there
4. hit 200 dive mark
5. GUE Cave 1 (depending on #1 happening early in 2013)

now that I wrote it down, those goals seem fairly lofty

2012: After 20 years of marriage - working myself to death for a selfish spouse (now known as ex-wife)...
1) Take a scuba refresher - Done
2) Buy all new scuba equipment - Done
3) Go on a scuba vacation to the Florida Keys - Done
4) Brag to ex-wife how great life is since she divorced me - Double Done!

2013:
1) Get my AOW - Scheduled for Mid-March in West Palm Beach scuba trip
2) Get NITROX cert - Also scheduled for Mid-March West Palm Beach scuba trip
3) Dive with sharks on my b-day - Booked in July with Stuart Cove's Bahamas Shark Adventure
4) Go away for at least 2 scuba trips a year - Done (See #1 & #2 above)
5) Find a dive buddy I can go on scuba trips with....(in progress)
6) Dive everywhere and anywhere that I dream about... (in progress)

2014:
1) Cage dive with Great White sharks at Guadalupe Island
2) Get dry-suit trained
3) Dive Bonne Terre Mine

2013 goals:
Cross the 150 dives milestone before Dec 2013.
Help at least 6 newly minted OW divers become safety-focused divers.
Look into DIR / GUE Fundies

Finish my Dive Con training
Dive at least 100 dives
Create opportunities to dive with my daughter (maine Biology student in college). First up- Cayman Brac in March, then Bonaire in July.

2) IE Program, preferably in Utila

3) Get GF diving, currently only a snorkeler

4) Do the Dry Suit Specialty Course

5) Dive Bonne Terre Mine

6) Complete GUE Fundamental Course

7) Prepare for Jim Wyatt's Cavern & Cave courses (2014 Goal)

8) Dive in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado

Many things I'd LIKE to do but my most important goal is to not push my wife too hard. I want her to keep liking diving. When she starts going diving with me just to please me I'll know it's time to back off.
