Great stats folks, puts a humanity with the names

Fifty two dives here in a grossly weather dependent weekend diving environment

Due to two medical problems requiring surgery, I made only 7 dives in 2018.
That's down from 41 dives in 2017.
In previous years I averaged about 80 dives a year.

Hoping to rebound in 2019.
I still love to dive.

Best wishes to everyone in 2019 and beyond.
K

2018 - 25 dives, 21:59 of bottom time, averaging 0:52:45/dive. 21 of 25 done on a double hose. Missed the whole summer here as vis was brutal, and family needs trumped scuba.

Two family trips to Curacao, and a family trip to Tobermory made for some fun for the year.

I live in a scuba desert so 25 this year was the most I've done in a year. 3 in Iowa, 7 in Illinois, 2 in Missouri, 9 in Cozumel, 4 in California.

New toys: BP/W; 7 mm suit, hood, and gloves for cold water; sharkskin jacket for warm water; regulator; Sea&Sea strobe; UK primary light.

New certifications: EANx, Perfect Buoyancy, Deep, Wreck, Stress and Rescue, Photography.

Baby #3 due in May, so 2019 probably won't be much more than the 8 or so dives I do next week in Cozumel.

Here my stats.

- 85 logged dives
- Done my Tec40 course
- First time on GBR
- First time on a liveaboard
- Got my drysuit

New year resolutions:

- Dive as much as possible
- Level up to Tec45
- Start to seriously consider the rebreather world

I'll throw my numbers in here... not overly impressive (and quite probably entirely inaccurate), but why not?

Total dives: 144
Max depth: 213'
Avg depth: a far-less impressive 21'
Average time: 25 minutes
Total time: 3620 minutes
Max dive time: 127 minutes (though I am skeptical of this)

I did get my average RMV to 0.58 cf/min... which I think I'm happy about but don't entirely believe.

Aside from 4 dives in Tobago, and 10 in Pompano Beach, the rest were in Ontario (but that also included 3 ice dives IIRC).

Completed Advanced Wreck, Normoxic Trimix, and Sidemount courses.

Here’s my stats

126 total dives
Bonaire 16
Cozumel 15
Cuba Aggressor 26
St Kitt’s/Carribean Exp 30
Maui/Lanaii 11
Bahamas 18
Gran Turk 10

Starting this year’s tally in the Galapagos next week.

33 dives,
14 sidemount,
18 solo (6 with pony, 12 with sidemount)
28.2 hours,
several as DM candidate evaluations,
six organizing friends to Pt. Lobos or Monterey,
all wet, all day, two boat.

Nine at Catalina research station, rest in Monterey/Carmel.
Longest 1:48,
Deepest 60',
Coldest/Warmest 49/60.

Highlights: Harbor seal dive buddy, young sea lion brief playmate, swimming amid blacksmith and other schools, strawberry anemone covered reefs, Catalina research station, sidemount with LP50s, sidemount with AL40s, own tanks so fully rigged to drive and dive anywhere any time ocean permitting, organizing friends for kelp forest dives.

26 dives all in sidemount.
What I find impressive about it is I did them all while being deployed overseas on a military mission.

Courses:
Tech sidemount
Tech 40

Plan for this year:
Go home!

This year I enjoyed plentiful of bottom time. Glad to be healthy enough and also to share this gift with others.

My heart was delighted to have my last dive of 2018 with this loving couple too!
