Accomplishments of 2010?

About a year ago, Marc published this excellent thread where we reflected on our achievements for 2009 and our hopes for 2010.

Winding it forward a year, I thought it would be fun to dig through the old thread, and see how everybody did.

Checking my original reply:

For 2010:

• I get to dive the Zenobia in Cyprus in February (yay!) - Yep!
• still planning to finally make it down to Bonaire - Nope
• hoping to take a trimix cert, but we'll see - Nope
• [-]will try to waste less time posting on SB[/-] - Hah!

For 2011:

• will make good on my longstanding promise to take my Dad to Truk Lagoon - Yep, booked in for Jan 2011!

Other 2010 achievements? Had another really good year lobstering, and got my trimix blender cert (ironic n'est pas?). Slightly less active than 2009 but still logged about 60 dives. Never did finish my Divemaster...

Other 2011 resolutions? Still like to get to Bonaire and get that trimix cert, but it looks dull to push the same resolutions again. I'll be satisfied with just doing Truk for this coming year.

AOW training for me and my kids
Dove the St Clair River by the Blue Water Bridge 17 times (ave current 4-6 knots)
Kids are comfortable diving the River
Continued to get better with my camera

2011 Goals
Log more dives than 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rescue Diver as a family
Try not to buy more new gear (yeah, right!)
Cozumel in February and someplace equally as awesome before the end of the year
Dive the River from the Canadian side

Passed 71st birthday. Got diabetes under control. Got cured of prostate cancer. And am upright and breathing in the mornings. Will be diving again in the near future (January when prices go up of course).

My accomplishments for 2010 were progressing from SSI OW, Level 2 to Specialty Diver, Advanced OW Diver, Stress and Rescue Diver, and just last month, Master Diver. In April, I also began a PADI Divemaster program and am about halfway through it. I set a goal of 50 dives by the end of this year and already have 57 and am scheduled for another seven by 12/31. Since I only got certifed over Thanksgiving 2009, I'm really happy with what I've accomplished this year, not just the dive numbers and certification levels, but, more importantly, the skills I've learned and the confidence I've gained.

Next year's goals? To finish my Divemaster program and reach the Century mark for dives, plus add a few more specialities. Oh yes, and have a heck of a lot of fun diving!

- practice calculating dive time based on SAC rate and tank volume etc

I was going to try and break 100 dives this year.

I'm 3 dives away.. I think I can do it.... (Gotta get my drysuit neck-seal replaced, though, it's got a huge nick in it which will tear PDQ)
