I saw a GPO right at the steps at Catalina's Casino Point. He went back into his hole and changed colors so we couldn't see him. I wished I had brought a video camera instead of a still camera that time.

Plenty of red octos show up on night dives at Breakwater though, FWIW. Also, there's a pair of eels in a crack/crevice off of Coral Street that I've seen a couple of times.

Ishie:
I must have bad critter luck. No GPOs and ONE wolf eel.

I've seen lots of red octopi; remember the ones during the day at Lovers 3? That was cool. I did a number of night dives off BW and never saw any octopi, but then there was one dive and we ended up on top of about seven of them!

Haven't seen the eels off Coral St.! I'll have to check them out.

Ishie:
Don't the sharks and seals hang out shallow though? I'm usually in 60-80 at Lobos and was thinking of sitting closer in the cove next time to try to see them.
By far the best seal experience I've had was just inside the outer edge of the help in
Whaler's. And of course I had the right lens but was out of film. *&$%!!
And I've seen a few leopard sharks out there too.

drbill:
Oh my goodness, Chris. What happened. Did they slip a dive rape drug into your beer to get you to do something that silly! 52 degrees? Heck, you can hit that between 150 and 180 here... or just go down to San Diego! Actually Casino Point had 51 F two weekends ago.

Brr, I'd need a chainsaw to cut an opening :14:

Ishie:
51? Kid stuff; try 48! Ahhh, that's Brisk, baby!

Ha, and she didn't mention that she doesn't always wear a hood at those temps!

I actually went shopping again for exposure protection ... the Henderson is getting a bit worn ... and once temps reach about 55 ... it gets harder to be motivated. I did find a Semi-Dry I actually like ... PINNACLE AQUATICS Polar 7mm Semi-Dry, not sure I may grab one ... pretty expensive non-dry though at around $500.00 bucks U.S.

Xcel is a good product line with lot's of sizes.

A GPO at Casino? How cool is that??

And dr bill, yes, long story, but I was falsely lured with promises of meat. :)
