I get pop up ads and phone solicitations for hearing aids, medical emergency alert devices and burial plots. It's partly a demographic thing. Count yourself lucky.

Pop up ads are not part of any ads supported on ScubaBoard. If you have popups, I suggest you do a malware scan on your machine.

Not on ScubaBoard. Popups occur elsewhere. I find the age related ads and phone solicitations interesting because they illustrates how thoroughly every aspect of your life is known to mass marketers.

With ScubaBoard, if I look at something on Google, like a pair of boots or a camera, ads for boots and cameras will start showing up. If you Google anything about an automobile, even something obscure, like the kind of electrical system that was used on a 1958 Triumph Tr3a, you will get ads for new cars. Never popups, though; "consumer interest" directed ads, defined very broadly.

If you are searching in the web something "obscure", you always can do this with the a new anonymous window. Now all new web explorers come with this feature.
