Has anyone done this dive (Army Tanks/Barge Dive) before or is booked on it (I am) for April 20th with Florida West Scuba?

Any comments/description?

Cheers.

If you have never done the tanks , there cool the first time. There's usually Goliath grouper hanging around.
The barge has more life on and around it. There are also the tanks (mixers) off a couple cement trucks 200'+ to the south?? of the barge. They were pretty much buried the last time I was there.

Thanks. What are the approx depths for both sites?

Cheers.

Tanks...... 60-63' from the left is depth (located Sarasota County). All public FL artificial reef info can be found here: http://marinefisheries.org/ar/index.asp

Some reefs are not listed, they are intentionally kept quiet so that there is a control group with "known coordinates" and one that is not disturbed unless accidentally found. :)

So much for this...weather gods strike again :shakehead

What?! whats wrong with the weather? I am going to do shore dives in Venice on the 20th & 21st, the weather looks fine to me???

Looks ok to me too but Florida West Scuba called to cancel yesterday.

Cheers.

probably didnt have enough people on the boat :( sorry, hope u find someone else to take you out.

I would venture to say that it is probably because the winds have been out of the west & north lately, therefore the viz will be poor.
