heheheeh looks like Sas gets the diving trophey for the month!!

To be honest I thinl SAS was the only entrant, but I reckon even if we added all our dives together we would have a hard time beating her.

She is a SUPER KEEN DIVER .... don't think I was ever that keen, but I do remember doing 3 dives a day when I first started

i have a spring cold and been indoors for the past 2 days - didnt even go to the treasure hunt so hopefully Petunia and Fishy won a prize!

:( That sucks that you missed the diving almitywife :(. Hope your cold is on the mend. I've been really lucky this year and not had a cold, for the first year in a long time... Dan has had heaps though, I must be immune or something seeing as I don't catch them off him!

Sas... hubby suggest a 7pm night dive at Shelly Beach/Manly on the 1st and weather permitting we can have a byo bbq at Shelly afterwards (unless you have dinner plans with your sister)? anyone else interested??

:shocked2: Night dive! Yay~~~ :bounce: Yes, definitely interested :D I can dive up until 9.45pm on Saturday night :) I booked my flight for 9.45pm on Sunday, have to work Monday for sure :(, want to have 24hrs between diving and flying. Catching up with my sister and friend on Sunday so have all of Saturday free :)

:rofl3: I didn't know there was a competition? What do I win? :p

Yea I thought the novelty might have worn off by now... but we're adding midweek dives now :rofl3: so I guess not! My bank account is suffering a tad and will probably continue to do so for a long time yet... There always seems to be more to do, I have a list of dive sites I want to check out a mile long and that is just in Victoria!

sounds good Sas! im on a course on saturday so for now how about we meet at Shelley Beach/Manly carpark about 6.30pm. Shelley is a easy walk down the carpark road to the beach and then a easy beach entry.

Shelley info. Mr Mac isnt a fan of Shelley but you always get something there and its a nice easy dive. max depth will be about 8-10mtrs

carpark is at the end of Bower Street. heres a map:

Hmm ... an easy walk DOWN .. yes an easy walk UP ... NO WAY ... oh i forgot you run up sandhills ... so its easy for some

heheheh - well you can drive down, drop/pickup your grear and drive back up

i have no issue with the walk up the road or the stairs... hehehe, hubby makes his students do it all the time

Well I once had to practically rock climb with all my gear on to get to a dive site so I think walking up/down the sand is ok :p Though the day after, well for a few days after, my "rock climbing" my legs were killing and walking was a struggle haha. I have Sunday to recover though :D

Shelly sounds good, I read the description from Mr. Mac but I am happy to dive in a puddle really so no stress if it isn't teaming with sharks, and wrecks and millions of critters :p Half the fun in diving is the socialising aspect :) And I do love night diving!

im hearing rumors that someone from SouthPac has been putting in plastic stakes from the shore to the wreck  i might have to ask the right people to confirm this

btw, SouthPac is a independant dive club in sydney - they like deep and wreck and next monday night they will be having a very interesting speaker. this is a email i got from their President yesterday

You can do the Currajong as a shore dive, however, this is best done in light - the problem then is the ferries which pass over the wreck. Biggest problem is the yachts that come very close short.

The Currajong is best and safer done at night after the last ferry (abt 12:30am) - there can be some strong currents, so it is also wise to do it right on the peak of an incomming tide.

There is no penetration of the wreck as it is completely full of silt - there is one swim through (if you are keen).

The Currajong is one of the most complete wrecks in NSW - definately a dive that you should do.

I have never had a bad dive on the Currajong - if you get the chance - make sure you do it.

A video I took last year - I have a video on Youtube of the Currajong, but I am restricted to post URLs until I make 5 posts (I think this is my 4th) - mabey Almitywife can post the link for me? :)
