I'm a Fish!
Yesterday (122909) dispatch puts out an On Star call from a woman who has run off the road above the lake and she can’t take her foot off the brake or she is going in.

To make a long story short we had three divers on shift and we all responded. She slid her nice new Denali off a goat trail that was solid ice. She was high centered on the road side and wasn’t going anywhere. There were the dozens of trees between her and the driveway below her then there was the very large home on a very large lot prior to reaching the lake about 200’ away. So when we do get to her we have her step out and walk away. One down!!

Then today I’m headed into the office. At 0546 City dispatch puts out a suicide attempt on the Third Street Docks. I get there at 0558 and can see three people out near the end. So I swap out to my float coat and walk out to them. I ask what’s going on. 6’ teni bopper male says she going to kill herself. I tell him I’d like to hear what she has to say. Then she says I’m going to kill myself. I ask why. She proceeds to tell me she had done the wild thing with another guy and this 6’ teni bopper was breaking up with her. I ask how she planned on doing it (The suicide, get mind out of gutter). She tells me she is going to jump into the lake. I chuckle and tell her I’m the senior diver on the dive team so her idea wasn’t going to work. All she was going to do was jump in gasp in a bunch of water and I was just going to grab her hair and pull her back onto the dock. All she would accomplish was get colder than she has ever been in her life. A state trooper arrived as my back up so I ask her what her plans were now. She said I’ll just do it later. I said do what and she responded with kill myself. At that we hooked her up and escorted her to the parking lot and the city cars that were waiting to take her for a short vacation at the Looney Bin.:shakehead:

About 20 minutes later we were able to catch an armed robber who picked on the wrong Barista at the coffee hut. He points a gun at her and requests her cash. :shocked2: She points a bigger gun at him and says leave. :mooner: He does not realizing there were 8 of us two minutes away and my partner was only a couple of blocks away after just getting his Late at the same stand. :rofl3:

Hey Gary - we had one last week....A kid on vacation, 18 y/o out visiting grandma gets the dear John by text. He trashes the house, calls the girl and says "Bye, I'm gonna kill myself." She calls his parents, who call grandma who says he trashed the house and took the car to the dock to jump.

The kid is on the fishing railing telling the first P.O. who shows up he's going in. The cop tries to talk to him but he goes over. Dopey lands on a submerged pylon in the 4' of water and fractured his ankle. I guess the cold water helped with the pain because he was up the wooden dock ladder faster than he went in.

Had he listened to the P.O. he would have heard her tell him what you told your girl. Oh well....kids always know best....

I remember when I was teenager. I used to know everything! What the &^%&^%&^$% happened?

You became one of "Them"...urrr..."Us"...um, well, you get the drift.
