When traveling thru Iraq, Kuwait and Dubai, they could care less about batteries (or AK-47 Assault rifles for that matter). But when they saw my regs and hoses they usually freaked out. I started to carry large pictures from diving magazines to show them what they were.

Sometimes I think it is more about personal power and some security agents around the world seem to push their limits to the extreme. Seen one agent who wanted to confiscate a guy's fishing pole; so the guy broke it over his knee and handed it over.
