Hello Wet Ones,

Just severely bruised my budget with my first DSLR buy, including Nexus housing, Nikon D100, Inon Z-240, lenses, ports, etc. Now, in mortal terror of a flood, I'm looking for opinions on camera flood/damage insurance.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Best Regards,

DAN has a great program, I use them. It's cheaper than DEPP, and they give you $ rather than a replacement item if you have to make a claim. There's an excellent thread over at Wetpixel forums - I think it is stickied in one of the general forums. Dan has an exclusion for if you drop your camera off the boat and it sinks out of sight, however, which Depp doesn't have.

Thanks guys,

Taxgeek, I found that thread on Wetpixel and, actually, it lead me toward the Niksecure insurance thru Nikonians . That's looking like the best I've found so far. Check out the FAQ's

Yeah I've been asking around as well. Looks like I would either have to get some form of comprehensive travel insurance to cover "damage" and theft, but not sure that will cover a flooded camera. Alternative is to use a home owners/ renters insurance to cover the equipment...
